Need Help:Choosing Products for Detailing!

I need to buy some new soap and products to wash my car with, I just don't know what to buy. I hated my old soap because it always left my car with weird spots. Can anyone suggest me anything? I need some tire cleaning, wheel cleaning and soap and wax for the car. Thanks!

Ok that seems good but what about some stuff I could find locally. Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts etc.

Locally

Meguiar's Gold Glass for car wash - make sure you are not washing in direct sunlight. Find some shade or use a canopy.

Simple Green for tire cleaning and wheel cleaning - make sure you dilute the product

Collinite is in many Harbor Freight stores, Duragloss can be bought at Carquest.

Detailed Image has great prices online and quick shipping

Would you prefer buying it from Detailed Image instead?

I would rather buy products from a site sponsor. George may have a discount for E90 members.

If you order from Detailed Image check out these products

Wash - Chemical Guys Maxi Suds - it will not strip your car of wax or sealant

Tires and Wheel Cleaner - Chemical Guys Sticky Gel Cleaner

Wax - I like P21S, is a great wax on all color cars

Alright cool. Hey what should I wash my car with though? Like a microfiber cloth or just a sponge? And drying also? Shamwow? hahaha.

i bought micofiber stuff from Bjs last time i got 3 microfiber wash mitts for i think 15 bucks. DI has the small plush towels on sale though. they work well for removing product but are to small for drying. you can get the waffle weave for drying and the sheepskin wash mitt for washing. Detailed image has a sale on chemical guys currently.

post pics when your done with the detail

Read the related area post on Invisible Glass for mirros/windows. Best stuff, and that you can get at any auto store for usually under $5. Use the regular suds while washing the whole car, then finish then clean with IG.
When I know it's going to rain (like once a year here in Cali) I also put some RainX on surfaces that get wind while driving. It's so cool to see snow fall off without wipers (IF you happen to encounter it)
