Hey man sorry to hear bout the clutch. To be honest, I really don't think you're gonna get away with a clutch replacement under warranty from BMW. These clutches that come in our cars are pretty heavy duty and can withstand about as much as any other best stock clutch can before upgrading. If you're claiming you haven't raced the car or heavily abused the clutch or that you even know how to properly drive a manual car, I would say you have had a defective clutch from factory (which is quite rare for BMW). I can't imagine you have over 60,000 miles on the clutch, but either way these clutches should last at Least 100,000 miles under normal driving conditions so I don't know what to tell you man. Good luck. Let us know what happens.

How did you blow the clutch? Are you a first time standard driver?

I mean, this car is pretty forgiving with the clutch, so it's hard to believe you weren't beating it up if it broke.

my clutch has felt "fried" a few times but not to the point I couldn't drive it.

a tech told me that some 07-08's have a trans fluid leak onto the clutch which causes it to slip a lot and can also result in a fire because of the friction... maybe thats what caused it.

they'll replace it once over the warranty period... racing or not.
