Looking for a BBK
Cant decide on whether I like the Brembos or the Stoptechs. I want red calipers regardless, but am not sure
1) Which of these two will fit an XI (e92) 2) Which will perform better... Any ideas if the Brembos will work on an XI or the StopTechs for that matter?? I am looking to spend around 4k so hopefully thats in range |

Brembo unfortunately does not make an Xi kit because the larger tie rods on these models comes in contact with the larger rotors. Stoptech does not list a kit either but I have not confirmed if they have one or not for this car.

Alcon/Stasis will fit on a E92 xi. (Kev had it on his 335xi)
I test fitted 355 mm rotor w/ 4 pot Brembo calipers on my E90 xi and they seems to clear everything.

If you're looking at 4-wheel BBK then you're going to be spending a bit more than $4k. The best pricing for Stoptech is over $5K and Brembo is about $1K more (so over $6K).
Fronts only, yes, you'll be less than $4K. Call Stoptech if you're interested. They'll let you know if they have a kit. Brembo - someone said they fit already, but you'll have to take their word for it.

BBK is really worth it if you're serious about showing your car or taking it to the track.

Brembo is currently looking for someone local in the area with an E92 335xi to do measuring on for an Xi BBK application.
StopTech say that they will be doing testing with next week, I should be hearing from them in a couple of weeks. |

Yes, they are willing to do it, provided someone will spend the day at their facility... I think someone was interested, but without a very good incentive, no one wants to pay them a visit.

The 335xi should just go right on.
The 328xi on the other hand, need some different parts.

I have an alcon front kit for sale.... works absolutely amazing (dare I say that the pedal feel was better on this alcon kit than my previous brembo kit on my M3 & stoptech kit on my S4) and unsprung weight is reduced dramatically.
This is a 4POT kit and to be honest I think that is all the 335 needs. It is in the F/S section, email me if you have any more questions. I'll take $1600 for it... which is more than half off! |
