That's the plan, good sir. I had planned on having info to post last week, which was the point of the thread, but a few things had to be worked out first.

It'll be worth the wait, and there will be fresh info posted very very soon. Sorry for the tease, it wasnt intended!

I am willing to bet that the HP numbers will be good--but they are unlikely to "blow you away".

If I understand correctly, the advantage of a flash over a piggyback is the ability to manipulate many more things than boost. So, you are more likely to have a "safer" increase in power, due to the fact that many more things are taken into consideration. I would think that, for those reasons, a flashed N54 would tend to be more reliable down the road than those tuned with a piggyback. I could be wrong though.....

Still anxious to see the results.

I will tell you this. Knowing the difficulty in flashing this car (cannot flash at home without a stable power supply) that flashes will be inferior choices especially if they are making less power. If they were hands down more power, then people would adopt, but until that day they will never be the choice.

I think the @ home flash will be addressed with GIAC--at least that is one of the things I am hoping for. That will be a game-changer, if true.

I think we will see comparable power gains--50 WHP at least. 70 (like the JB3) if we are lucky. You are right--they need to compete on the power end of things--but we won't know till we see it...

We will see on the at home flash part. Without that, in my opinion, it is already a fail.

I don't think it will necessarily be a fail, but without the ability to flash at home flashes wont dominate the market completely.

There are still a lot of people that believe in flash tuning. Not everyone is out for MOST POWA.

The big deal breaker I guess is if you have to send the DME off for flashing or not. If they setup a network of vendors across the US that wont be that bad.

There is a large GIAC dealer network, so if there isn't a flash-at-home setup it won't be as big a deal breaker as other flash options.

All you do is bash everyone that cares about power. I understand where you come from and what you opinion is going to be. Some of us do care about more power and we do have that right. There is no need for the "MOST POWA" comment.

Yeah, and all the piggy lovers do is bash about flashes not hitting 450whp. The proof is in this thread and any other thread mentioning flashes.

It goes both ways.

Ok, so let me set all biases(sp) aside and ask you an honest question.

Do you think everyone cares about getting the MOST power out of their car? If so, why?

If not, do you agree that there are people out there just looking for a moderate increase?

Do you think some people honestly think flash tuning is a better solution?

I don't ask these to bash, but just to make a point.

There are people who don't want to get in on this most power game. There are people who have been in other automotive communities and have seen what flashes can do. Some people like the idea of letting the DME do what it is supposed to do, and other people just want whatever device (or flash) gives them the most power.

More power to whatever choice you make. If you are happy, then that is ALL THAT MATTERS.

But to say flashes fail because they cannot be done at home yet is crazy. There are already people with flashes running around here. If a flash tune other than Dinan had been around as long as the Procedes or JBs do you really think no one would buy the flash?

I will agree with ONE point though, if flashing is done only via mail in it can never compete. But like someone said, GIAC has a network of dealers. So I think that part might not be an issue.

I'd like to put this thread on hold since it seems to be getting out of hand.
The good news is that there are more options for our cars.
I'm sure another thread will come out regarding dynos and a detailed review.
