Yeah, but it will still blow goats if my HPFP dies while I'm on the 5 1/2way between Fresno & LA.

Instead of agreeing to cover a defective part, BMW needs to man up and engineer a non-crap replacement.

I am sure they know of a fix, or even have a fix... but it probably costs too much and marketing said NO so they have to continue looking for cheaper fixes. It could be just new seals, but that would cost $x and muliplied by x number of N54 engines that would have to be recalled they would rather play the wait and see game. A totally new pump might be easier/cheaper in the long run, but I have a feeling they actually use the HPFP as a way of keeping the tuners scared. Sad

Tuners buy a LOT of cars though, and the rest of the researchers out there will avoid BMW due to the reliability decrease. They are losing tons of future customers. They are acting like hard-headed, stubborn, spoiled children... I just refuse to believe they can't figure out the problem or find a fix.
