I had a 8kw drivetrain loss, but had very few power sapping items on my 07 335. In fact the car had just the bare essentials.

why would u ask now which platform is better if u already have your car?

to each their own but i prefer the rwd version of the 335. Best way to gauge drivetrain loss since its different on each car is to take it to a dyno and do the simple math yourself. General rule of thumb though is around 12-15% on MT cars and a little more on AT (this is not bmw specific).

Turbosid is right in his suggestion.

I liked your question since I considered it often followed by another question: If the baseline on my 335 is 217kw & torque 407Nm; what cause the major drive train lossess e.g. sunroof; aircon etc...And why is Nm up and not also down?

But I was also interested to know if adding power mods (tune/intercooler/DVs etc...) necessarily equate to more power...eg. Intercooler will add 15Kw and tune 30Kw and together my car will push out 262Kw from its baseline 217Kw...But I am not so sure that is how the maths work..it is certainly NOT working like this on my car...

Don't stop asking questions even if they are silly, thats how we learn and create enthusiasm...(my Oprah moment)
