You can usually find Meguiars Gold Class soap at the local stores, it's good stuff. Remember that quick detailer (the stuff in the spray bottle) is not wax, despite any marketing attempts made by the manufacturer.

There are some decent products that are available over the counter like Meguiars products. Their Gold Class soap is pretty good and for wax their NXT 2.0 is good too or their #26 Yellow wax.

You may want even want to consider going to a marine store like West Marine and get Collinite products like Fleetwax, 476 or Liquid Insulator Wax. They are durable and have a good look to them.

Some stores carry clay. But if you're serious about detailing, get used to ordering things from DI or DD.

Here's a fantastic guide to get started, tons of useful information (including best practices for claying): http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-Detailing-Guide/

some stores carry the meguirs detailing clay kit which is decent. but +1 on DI or DD for supplies. the stuff you can get online imo is a lot better than 99 percent of otc products. plus both are site sponsers and usually offer discounts for e90 post members. for clay i would go with the claymagic fine and use ONR as clay lube. good luck and happy detailing.
