Ebay Intake Installed Pics!

UPDATE 7/24 - New Pics Uploaded!
So i decided to be the guinea pig and test out the fitment on this intake. Before anybody starts flaming..this is solely for fitment test purposes. I've owned an Injen intake before and am waiting to get the BMW performance intake. heres the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123

First off, the quality of the intake is above par for what I was expecting for $71 including shipping. From the welds/bend on the tube down to the tiny accessories needed are pretty ok quality. Afterall they are just rubber nuts and bolts so what could go wrong? It doesn't come with any instructions but since I owned the Injen Intake before, I was well aware of how to install it. Took about 25 minutes total

Now as far as the fitment goes, its directly bolt on and its 95% copy replica of the Injen Intake. I say 95% because there is a slight difference in where the MAF sensor mounts. I don't recall where the Injen Intake MAF sensor mounts on but I'm certainly sure its not where this Ebay Intake goes b/c it creates a tight fit as you can see. Still though it fits without rubbing (which the Injen intake actually rubs!!!) So maybe whoever created this intake replica decided to relocate to eliminate any rubbing on the the tube. The heatshield and the pre-drilled holes on the heatshield are superb. No fitment issues whatsoever.

The only downside to the ebay intake is of course the filter. Therefore, I have replaced it with a K&N Filter I had laying around from my old tuner car. IMHO, the look of having the larger K&N filter (compared to Injen's size) looks MUCH better in the engine bay http://store.knfilters.com/search/pr...px?Prod=E-1009. But anyways, I'll let you guys be the judge: (apologies for the bad quality pics, was using old cell phone camera)

A whole variety of cone filters would fit. The one i currently have installed is this: http://store.knfilters.com/search/pr...px?Prod=E-1009

Sound has a much better growl compared to stock, I'd say it is identical to the Injen Intake.

+8-12% power?

They'd be lucky to get 0.8-1.2HP I guess.

Yeah at the upper end, but doesn't it lose massive amounts below 3000rpm? I know there was a distinct reason I didn't buy it.

sound clips? so you're telling me this is basically a replica of the injen one? interesting.. wonder if it delivers the same gains (and losses below 3000rpm) that the injen one does

no sound clips yet, I would presume the gains/losses and somewhat identical to the Injen since the tube design is exactly the same, even the part where the MAF sensor is - you'll notice that part of the tube is slightly larger than the rest of the intake tube which is the exact same design as the Injen tube. The only difference is the filter; whereas I'm using a much larger K&N filter compared to the Injen.

Definitely not bad. Then again, it isn't a hard design. They're all pretty similar. The AFE just has an enclosure and a freaking huge cone filter. I would advise someone to purchase this intake even though it isn't a name brand and sold on Ebay.
