Question about tunes

Just wondering how the tunes work on just daily type driving. If I'm not pushing the car, smooth take offs, driving normally etc... will the tunes be making more boost than stock?
Thanks

Depends on the map (for JB3). Map6/7 will add a little more boost right off idle. Can take a little getting used to around town.

I put in the Procede II and have been taking it really easy since it's 105+ degrees fahrenheit. I would say it produces more boost than stock but if you are easing into it you don't even notice. So a smooth takeoff for me may go up to 4psi instead of 2.5psi before. And I only know that because I have the RiXter boost gauge

Oh, also Stg 1 Map dated 7-29

All done by throttle with the PROcede..., and with the user adjustables you can make it pretty stock like. I run 2 maps...1 is slightly above stock peaking at 10 psi, and a balls out full power 2 map.

But ... It does take some getting used to an additional 50 or so horsepower (depending on mod). Drivability is still good as noted above but you will find that you are suddenly going faster than you think and you will be on the brakes a lot more quickly.

Took me a few weeks to adapt to the new power (JB3 Map 3). In the end you will NOT want to go back to stock!

Thanks but I guess I didnt' word it right. I don't know if I'm being overly paranoid, but I'm worried about engine life. Basically if I do normal driving is there more boost/power being produced over stock. So is boost always higher no matter how you are driving? Cruise on?

Under the conditions you describe, these piggys will not be felt by you or your car...

A tune in simplest terms increases the range and the upper limit of torque demand. Eg. 0-300tq to 0-400tq. If you want more torque, the tune will will compensate by raising boost. So if you drove your car with a tune like you did before you had a tune, there will be no difference in the amount of boost.

JB3 1.3-1.4 maps 2,4,6 are stock like drivebility and smoothness. Press more to get more of the line or while driving.
