Engine Oil Question 320D

Hi, First of all i am new here, I just bought an Approved Used BMW 320D Msport Coupe 2007 from an approved BMW Showroom. I Checked the service history, the car has 27,033 miles and the last service was done at 25,000 miles, however the engine oil was changed when the car had 19,300 miles, here is the question:

at what mileage do i need to change the oil? it was changed at 19,300 miles

Thanks for now.

when the car tells you to change the oil, look it up in the idrive system or the BC with the button on the end of the signal stalk

wow..I didn't know that Malta was large enough to stretch the legs of a BMW. I've always wanted to visit.

You need to change the oil now. BMW "official" service intervals are not frequent enough. On a gasoline engine car, the synthetic oil should be changed every 7500 miles. On a diesel, which requires more frequent oil changes, I would not go more than 5000 miles without an oil and filter change. I am amazed that they sold you a car without changing the oil. That should be standard for any quality used car dealer.

ok i checked again and it says 12000 miles for oil change, and the oil is marked at maximum. I need to ask you another question, on the dashboard a triangle with an exclamation mark on it is showing, on the manual it says that it means service due. What does that mean? thanks for now i appreciate all your help...

could be many things, brakes, microfilter, general car check, etc. since you have no idrive i cannot give you the precise directions to find what is due. but you need to scroll through the menu with the signal stalk (note: not the bc button to see average speed, kilometers to go etc. but the button that can go up and down lol my english sucks) you should see a menu that says check

the triangle with ! in it indicates that there is something that needs to be checked and the triangle wont go away until it has been fixed. if the check says ok there is nothing serious wrong with the car.
