Procede V3 rev 1 Stage 1 and Stage 2 benchmarks

Hi all,

I went to the dyno today to figure out what the best procede map should be for my config.
I was doubting about stage 1 90% with ign @ 60% or stage 2 at 80% and ign at 80%

Nobody could provide a good advice besides going to a dyno, so I thought let's measure.

My car has the following:

Mtech front (airflow)
BMW Perf exhaust
Helix IC
Procede V3 Rev1
AFE air intake
Shell V-Power

Dyno: Dynojet STD corr 5
Conditions:

90F
30.10 in-Hg
Humidity: 16%
Two small fans in the front
Pulls in 5th gear as the 4th was giving spin.

First I did a stock baseline, running the procede in valet mode:

Results:

HP: 276,93
Torque: 299,73

Then I did a run with stage 1 80% / ign 100%

HP: 351,67
Torque: 352,60

Then I did a run with stage 1 90% / ign 60 %

HP: 362,00
Torque: 360,35

And the last run (impressive to my opinion) Stage 2 80% / ign 80%

HP: 373,85
Torque: 371,18

(this last one was not a full pull as the car was getting really hot at the time and the shop was closing; we went till 6000 rpm)

The car was in al setups very smooth, but the lack of good fans affected the high rpm curve a bit, giving some mini spikes (nothing extreme)

My target was to get 350hp out of it, but I'm really impressed by the procede and helix combo, giving me on stage 2 373,85 whp without downpipes.

Next time I go with new spark plugs, oem airbox and a new fuel pump, as it throw an error yesterday.

But the conclusion:

Stage 2 80/80 gave me the best performance with a similair curve as the stage 1 configs even without open downpipes but not a complete pull I must say that we could see some 16+ psi boost on my Procede Reader, I'm not sure If I like to run permanent @ 16Psi.

After all very happy with my Procede and Helix IC.

How can I upload the graph? I have a jpeg of it....

wow very nice. i wonder if the car was pulling timing at all on those setting and those mods. did you do a BT log or just the PROcede log?

What's the octane rating on your Shell V-Power?

Yeah I have some procede logs... have to get them out...but not off all of the runs, I just used it to get boost and a/f.

The V-Power is rated at 95 octane RON.

But to my experience it is better then the BP ultimate I can get at 98 RON.

Good results!

A few things:

1) Dyno testing in 5th gear is going to result in lower power than testing in 4th due to the prolonged run times. Each run lasts 13-14 seconds instead of 8-10 seconds. Which means more heat build-up in the engine which is especially bad when running small dyno fans.

2) All the map stages, for the most part, are the similar with the exception of default User Torque. So a UT of 70% on Stg 1 will be similiar in output to Stg 3 at 70%. There are some other differences with respect to partial throttle mapping and boost control logic, but the boost/fuel/timing targets are essentially the same.

3) The default settings, as you found out, are a good place to start (and leave it, for most people) as the default Stg 2 map well suits your mods and resulted in good power. Dialing back the Ignition Correction just 20% (100 to 80%) yielded considerable power gains as expected given your octane.

4) As you saw, running Stg 1 at 90% UT and 60% Ign Correction was too aggressive, hence the power loss.

It's great to use the dyno to dial in your car for max safe power. But you can also do so on the street (with Rev.2's CANbus logging).

Looking forward to seeing the dyno graphs

Cheers

Here the graph...

I'm sure I will receive some comment on the stage 2 run, but heat was giving some issues.
I'm pretty sure that with bigger fans, or the street (will contact you about that one, might need rev2 ;-)) the performance will even be a bit better..
The car was doing fine, and there is still a bit more to get out.

Regarding 5th gear, how to solve the spinning in 4th gear? We could not get a run without spin, so we went to 5th gear.
