HighVoltage,
Why are you still stuck on launching and drag strip?
Why do you even care if i spin a little or a lot?
No matter how you look at it, it's not supposed to hop

I'm asking questions for myself, not OP
So far i only got one valid answer from dlbrooks18

You are just giving usless information regarding the issue

So far, most launches i've seen have some wheel spin
There is a video of M5 launching from 3k and 4k
4K launch resulted a bit more spin but better 1/4 times (no hop, btw)

I'm only concerned about my setup and street tires

yea honestly i dont have an answer for the wheel hop. i'm not good enough at diagnosing something without seeing it.

Well, so far i've seen couple of things done by some members
1. outdrive spacer installed
2. BMW Rear Guide Rod Kit (M3 part) mod

I believe M3s dont have that problem no matter how much wheelspin you get

Sure the first time, maybe the second and the third but eventually if you keep doing it and dont adjust your throttle input it just shows you havent learned anything.

This is a problem right here...You are stuck on making a distinction on this issue where there is none.

I dont. Go spin. If thats all you wanted you shouldve been more clear about it, however I do recall you wanting "to take off fast dry/wet"..

It suppose to do what it was designed to do. Its a street car. Overloading the suspension was not part of the design.

I suppose I dont understand what is "usless" to you....

Look I dont care if you go spin yourself into oblivion if thats all you are after but please stop insinuating that spinning = faster. Did you consider the possibility that the M5 you saw could have eliminated spin and produced an even better run if he tried 3500? The fact that the wheels were spinning means that power was loss to the spin instead of pushing the vehicle forward.

Yes hop is annoying and potentially damaging, but you dont trade hop for spin to go faster.

Ok, forget drag and going fast
I thought i made it clear, IN CASE i spin what kind of mods prevent/decrease wheel hop?

Spin happens:
different day, different road, different coditions, just accept it
Hop is very anoying and i want to eleminate it

Lets forget anything else

Wow HighVoltage, boyfriend walked out on you recently, I can see why. Quit being a douchebag!

It's obvious what he's asking, but if you don't understand the question I'm sure he can type slower and use smaller words.

And what's the point of quoting the OP, when you're clearly responding to Andrey? Since you're fond of quoting, he said:

"Is there a way to solve this wheel hop issue?
It happened on my 330ci and now i get this on 335i
So annoying..."

He's not asking how to launch without spin, he's asking how to solve the wheel hop issue.

Launching without spin doesn't solve the problem, it just avoids it.

From the ass you're being I'd guess it's a tactic you're using right now, avoiding whatever problems you have in your life by coming on here and being a jerk.

Andrey, as mentioned the spacer helped for me, but didn't totally eliminate it. I'm guessing it helps by creating asymetrical rear outdrives to reduce the harmonics causing wheel hop. But that's just a guess, the only track I go to has curves in it.

That having been said, I also drift in my 335 on the track and the occasional drifting/powerslides on the street, and as soon as you get any sideways movement (doesn't take much) the wheel hop is eliminated. Again I'm guessing it's due to the above harmonics being reduced by asymetric loading of the suspension.

If I want to burn out (not usually my thing) in a straight line, I still get hop. IMO, for a car that's completely capable stock of lighting up the stock rears (with DTC off), it SHOULD be designed to do so without hopping. I disagree with ShortCircuit above and believe that the suspension should have been designed NOT to hop in stock config.
