Finally Heard my car from someone else driving it!!! Surprised to say the least

Soooo, I finally allowed someone else to drive my car yesterday (NYCMFIZZLE). The two major things I noticed:

Auto

A) The car ACTUALLY made some sort of Garggle when throttle is released in lower gears. I was stunned, the thing sounds like a little bit of a bada$$.

B) This is more of a possible cause for confusion... On like a shift from 1st to 2nd, or 2nd to 3rd hard. Releasing the pedal fully, and shifting around peak boost 4.5K-5.5K It makes a huge BOOM! Sounds freakin SIIICK! But surprising as well... I heard it twice yesterday, first when he drove, then after we were driving together (he had his 135) and I banged out the gear and it popped again!

Is this the wastegate, or possible blow-off valve? Never heard it before. I do hear the blow-off valve sneeze when i shift early once in a while. But a Boom, from the exhaust?!?! Maybe its the throttle shutting.... Has anyone else noticed the noise? I'll try to get a clip of it... wonder if it shoots flames?!?

My car "garggles" as well during a fast throttle release in low rpm in lower gears with stock piping and a tune.

Whenever I hear a car gargle, I cringe. It sounds like it's dying...

I much prefer a super low frequency humm at low rpm, like a subwoofer sort of MMMMMMMM.

the boom is probably a backfire from excess fuel. I wouldn't worry too much. Also you won't get flames until you get ride of your cats.

Ride in my 300zx, I'm running 3"DPs into 3" "test pipes" that end right underneath the driver and passenger seat. When it backfired hard for the first time it literally sounded a .45 cal pistol being shot underneath, I'm not easy to scare and I nearly jumped out of my seat! But yeah, if you have a blow off and exhaust you are probably just hearing excess fuel being burned outside of the cylinders when you let off the throttle and the bypass valve opens, kind of of like a mini explosion in your exhaust piping.

I have my secondary cats out and my friends have told me that if I floor it and shift really hard into 2nd from mid RPM that I get a little pop and flame. I obviously havent seen it but so I hear.

Same here... My buddies have told me that I get a "pop" noise from the exhaust. I have no tunes.
