Oh man, I thought maybe you had the new 390i with twin turbo V-8 and had it up to 200 mph

well this was in holland where there is a 100 kmph speed limit and this was on a 50 kmph road, so it wasn't that easy

looks like 258 kph = 160 mph. Pretty quick. Did the speed limiter kick in?

no the limiter kicked in at 260 kmph... i'm thinking about software without a limit... the only problem is that you lose your license at 150 kmph

yes till the limiter can be done in 5th gear, the 6th only decreases the torque...

Not to mention what a great place the Netherlands is to live -- I was at a workshop at the National Childrens' Hospital in Utrecht for a week or so when I got my E46 on ED, and I was so impressed with just about everything. But the drive back to Munich was quite the thrill...

Why is that the case. In holland, there seem to be lots of other things practiced freely like soft drugs and prostitution then why so much restriction on speeding on roadways ?

well on our roads is it always very busy, so i think that's the reason why the give us a 100 kmp speed limit.. but at night the roads are empty so thats the time when we all drive fast

Where I live the worst thing about night driving is the animals -- deer in particular are pain in the front end if you happen to have one jump on the hood. But even relatively slow critters like raccoons and cats can dart in front at unpredictable places. I have missed quite a few thanks to the remarkable braking, visibility (lighting, sight lines), and handling of bimmers.

Another good use for the Schnitzer air dam! Watch that you do not get Renaults caught up and blocking the brake ducts though...

rody, would you mind reducing your signature size? It's huge on my monitor and gets kind of obnoxious when you post multiple times in a thread. Thanks.

We should enable direct email for personal messages (like requests to reduce signatures) to avoid E-clutter.
Any handy equivalents of Miss Manners for E-lists that could serve as a guide on this stuff? I am rocking now that I got a superspeed DSL set up at home and no longer have to wait for the link at the office to check out the new photos... But I sympathize wth those stuck with 56kmodem snail trails.
