Anyone running the AMS CP-E standback and any reviews?
Does anyone have the AMS CP-E standback installed on their car?
If so, are you satisfied? Any dyno numbers? How does this compare to the GIAC flash on a stock car? Thanks, Gumpy. ![]() |

Not many people have them as they are not shipping just yet. I would love to give you a back to back review but I have not tried the GIAC flash at all.
I can say the stand-back is GREAT though. Compared to the JB3 it was night and day in not only power delivery but part throttle as well. I thought it drove better than stock on the CP-E system. The plug and play versions are very close to being complete according to my phone conversation with CP-E this morning. Eric |

Thanks Eric
I thought that they were already available and in customers hands after looking at your website. Once they get in customers hands, it would be great to get some feedback. It would be nice to have 2 maps (1 for autocross and one for street). Gumpy. |

Although they may have a great tune I bet, right now asking anyone to try this tune or give feedback will be almost impossible, when Rev II and JB3 have basically cornered the market...

CP-E lets you make your own maps... which for AMS (custom work) is invaluable.
CP-E also runs a flat boost curve (i.e. pegs it at some number at all open throttle times), which makes tuning more 'classic', and easier to tweak. -scheherazade |

Multiple reasons for waiting for the CP-E from AMS.
One, I had an EVO before this and AMS was the one to go to for powerful and reliable tunes. Two, I have had the dealer re-flash the car with updates so many times, I don't want to have to re-pay for a re-flash and most GIAC dealers locally dont't even have the flashloader necessary to flash the car. No, I don't want to send my ECU into GIAC as this deafeats the purpose of flashing through the OBD port. Three, Switchable maps for street and autocross. Yes, other piggybacks do this to. Four, Very stable boost control. Most of the other piggybacks and flashes do not accurately hold target boost that well. Five, I have a local tuner that I had tune my EVO, but he can't do it without the proper software. As far as I know, the CP-E standback from AMS is the only one with any decent end user tunability. Just my 5 cents. Gumpy. |

most are waiting for the plug and play harness' which are being built right now. Along with myself there are several out there running the system without a hitch. Works great, smooth powerband and like many have mentioned AWESOME user adjustment. As also mentioned prior we will be offering our own downloadable AMS maps for Stand-Back owners.
