I love Le Mans Blue - one of my favourite 3 series colours. Very nice motor PenyFan.
I also find the XF tempting but only the XFR supercharged V8 with the semi-active exhaust! Shame it's two cm too long for my garage.

If I had a garage I would knock it down if necessary for a Supercharged XFR!!

Re: BMW 320D M-Sport 59 reg
I collected the motor just over two weeks ago with 12 miles on the clock. It’s now done about 600 or so, so I’ve got a bit more to do! So far, what is it like and how does it compare with my previous motor, a 320i SE 55 reg?
Well, there is no doubt the M-Sport rides more smoothly on the road than the 55 reg SE, with less of the crashing over pot holes and drain covers. I put this down not only to the ‘sport suspension’ but the new breed of run flat tyres. There is less need now to sort of ‘anticipate’ the crashes. However, there is very slight tyre noise with the M-Sport, presumable due to the wider tyres.
It is interesting that the ‘D’ has sound proofing under the bonnet, whereas the ‘i’ had none.
The M-Sport is lovely to drive. The smooth feel of the smaller ‘sports’ steering wheel and the way the car sits flat and firm on the road all ideal stuff for cutting fast through the spray in the outside lane on those sweeping motorway curves.
Being a diesel of course, the ‘D’ is not quite so smooth and quite as the ‘i’ on tick-over. Also, given a smooth road surface (quite rare!) the engine of the ‘i’ could not be heard or felt, also, the ‘i’ seemed more flexible at low speed. But I am just nit picking. The extra power of the ‘D’, the sports seats, the M-Sport suspension & the new R/F’s make a big diff in my opinion.
I quite like the beige leathers. It certainly brightens up the interior of the car and makes a change from Thames mud grey!
All in all the 320D M-Sport is a great car and all things considered it is my opinion a better choice for me and her, compared with the Jag XF.

What tyres has yours got?

I'm convinced that running taller, smaller rubber makes a big positive difference in ride comfort with RFTs. My ride is firm but I'm getting none of the crashiness/skittishness many describe - all who seem to have bigger wheels and lower profile rubber.

Sounds good -and of course it's better than an OAP Jag...!

Thanks 225diesel for your interest!
The tyres fitted are: Front 225/45 R17 91V. Rear 255/40 R17 94V
Bridgestone Potenza RE050AI fitted to M Double-spoke style 194M 17" wheels.
I just missed out on the 'Edition' upgrade to style 193M 18" wheels,
but am very satisfied with the 17" I have.
As you say, going to bigger wheels and lower profile rubber I am sure would not have given the excellent ride I have.
To think that the previous 320i had 16" wheels! So the improved ride in my 320D must be a combination of the M-Sport suspension and the new type run flats. The new R/F's fitted have a prominent ridge that runs around the tyre close to the wheel rim. The old R/F's did'nt have this.
The Jag is very much OAP. Do you ever see any one else drive them? That's also, why I did'nt really consider a Merc.
Cheers!

Car looks great, reminds me when i got mine. The colour and spec is very similar to mine. I even had the lumbar and through load which is quite rare. I am sure you will enjoy driving it as i still enjoy mine.
