E92 M-Sport

Hi guys,

What do you think about this deal?

E92 328i in Le Mans Blue (2009)
+M-Sport
+IPOD

MSRP: $42,950
OFFERED: $40,400 + tax & lic.

I know this is not the great deal ever. But considering there are only a few of these left for 2009 model, it's probably not so bad. The dealer just won't go any lower.

Thx.

if those are the only options the car has and the dealer won't go any lower, i think you should walk away.

especially since everyone is talking about 2010s now. the site is updated with 2010 info, and you'd be doing him a favor by taking that off the lot. M-sport is the shit. don't let them think that because its suck a popular package they can negotiate the price.
walk away but tell them to call you if they can end up doing lower. at this point, i'd accept nothing but invoice or lower. i already went through this process.

That still seems to be pretty well over invoice (I estimated it to be around 38230 for the options you've listed). MSRP I calculated was around 41525 (doesn't include tax).

For an '09 you should probably be able to get pretty damn close to invoice around this time of year; definitely invoice +500ish - so roughly 38,7-39k.

Generally MSRP x 0.92 will give you invoice price, shoot for around that.

Sorry guys ...it's also an automatic. So, using the .92xMSRP formula it comes out about $886 over invoice. I guess that's still not an okay deal.

I'm in the same boat. They are trying to sell me a 2009 335i sedan with m-sport and some other options. They are selling it at $500 over invoice.

Why I'm not taking the deal is because the second you drive this car off the lot, it becomes 1 year old, even with 5 miles on it. This is due to the fact that the 2010 models are now being sold.

If I can pay $1000 over invoice on a 2010 model, what is the draw to taking the 2009 off their lot and doing them a huge favor?

The savings, in my opinion, would have to be well under invoice to make it a wise financial based decision.

I'm curious to hear others' opinions on this.

Bill
