The Training Fee is a required fee on all new cars. I believe it goes to the dealership to train their staff, not me on the driving. You don't have a choice to skip that fee. You will also see it on the MY2010 Confidential Price sheet.

$1000 over invoice?

Ready after stick-shifting a Honda Civic to pull trigger on 2010 335i sedan. Dealer in Bay Area was [too] quick to agree to $1,000 over invoice for new order. Isn't this reasonable, though? Haven't yet tried to play his offer against other dealers.

What else should I press for? Just a few days ago he told me there were no 'incentives' for 2010. How quickly that song and dance changed....

Thanks for all replies.

Press for invoice price. I just ordered a 2010 328xi coupe for $500 over invoice plus "free" window tinting (so it comes out to be about $200-250 over invoice).

Just helped a buddy get into a 328i Coupe....... 200 over final invoice (invoice + ad fee+training + floor mats )...... took 5 minutes, just called the sales manager and asked very politely. With the present free auto transmission you're paying 1300+ for something that the dealer is getting for free. So if you push for an invoice price, they're still grossing 1300 because of the transmission that they get for free, but make you pay for.....

good luck!

Got "invoice"

Just placed deposit on 335 sedan order today, at "invoice" -- quotation marks since of course that is not dealer cost. Anyway it's sedan with Prem, Sport, Auto transmission, Navigation, metallic paint, Logic7, fold down seat, Comfort access for 48,335.

MACO and training fee weren't negotiable but they threw in floor mats.

Thanks for the advice.

ewwwww. Platinum Bronze belongs to a Lexus, you don't see many BMWs in this color. I don't think you'll find another Bronze + Beige either. No Sport Package? It'll look like crap.
Maybe BMW isn't the right car for you.

Just wanted to update. I purchased the 2010 E92 for $500 over invoice and European Delivery (still need to finalize on Monday). Dealer threw in tinting (family previously bought from him) so I guess it would actually be <500. Platinum bronze, beige interior, premium package, cold weather package, navigation, ipod/usb adapter, and anti-theft.

Very excited about the car and to be part of these forums!

You couldn't be more wrong. I saw the car in person at the dealer and it looked a lot more classy than any other BMW I saw in the lot.

I bet you have some generic, overplayed color, right?

really depends on the model, but if you got at the right time on the right model, you should be able to get invoice. My friend works at dealership in sales and mentioned that sometimes, it's all about units sold and "trunk money"...

They get bonuses on all sorts of thing including units sold, so sometimes they will take loss on a car to hit their unit bonus.

Good Luck!
