if it is already cracking up to the center from lower left... the chances are.. its not repairable..

I have Geico and I have mine replaced for my $50 deductible, with Safelite, OEM windshield + molding.

(you need to be careful, as Safelite sometimes use aftermarket windshield instead of OEM. So, you have to ask for OEM and fight for it)

Your dealer is trying to take you to the cleaners. OEM glass runs $360 from Tischer. Get the part numbers for the others parts you'll need, and look them up on Tischers site as well(www.getbmwparts.com) and then call dealers up and have them price match. I had Circle BMW come pretty close to Tischer on door glass, as soon as I mentioned price matching another dealer. Then call up a local glass installer with a good reputation and have him do it for you.

I was at Safelite shop in brooklyn just yesterday to replace my window glass and saw another had the chip on the windshield removed while I was waiting. The results were pretty amazing (can barely see anything - just a small blur in the glass). But like the other fella said, if it starts to spread, youre chances of getting it repaired are slim.

Safelite just came to my house and did it in my garage. I had a small chip that couldnt be filled since the chipped part started cracking. The guys were really cool and showed me how to replace my mirror if I ever wanted to swap with my other e90 (which is auto-dimming). USAA covered the whole tab.
