Does size of the car matter? If not, the Mini S is the choice. I drove a Clubman and it is a sharp handling dialed in little car. And the interior is cool and fun. But if you need a daily driver, need to use the rear seats and haul anything the GTI is a more practical choice.

It all depends on what you are looking for. The GTi's interior is nice, the interior on the R56 MINI Coopers looks like a toy. If you want a car that handles like a Go Kart is and fun to drive and you dont require a rear seat pick up a used R53 MINI Cooper GP. You wont be disappointed. The R53 is more fun than the R56 in my opinion.
