Automatic door unlock after the crash. Not in Tiger Wood's Cadillac...

I am almost certain that our BMWs have a feature that will automatically unlocks the doors after the crash.

I'm somewhat shocked when reading the news about Tiger Woods' crash, his Cadillac doesn't unlock the doors right after the crash. His wife had to use the golf club to break the window and unlock the door.

I'm glad that we have automatic door unlock feature in our BMW cars.

No airbags deployed in Tiger's crash though. The BMW's would react as the Escalade did in the same situation.

well, according to the latest rumors, the golf club smash action was before the accident, and not after it...

something fishy ?

There is something amiss in the reported facts concerning Tiger's collision with a fire hydrant and a tree. Why did the airbags not deploy ? My understanding is that frontal airbags will deploy in collisions at or above 12 mph or 20 km/h.
He was reportedly traveling faster than this when the collision occurred.

And yes, the BMW doors are designed to unlock and the 4 way flashers flash in the event that the airbags are deployed.

Bottom line, his wife was kicking his ass and she beat the car in with his clubs. Then she prolly whacked him in the head and thats why he was "in n out of consciousness"

The airbags apparently dont deploy at a certain speed and he had the doors locked cause his wife went nuts.

His wife punched him several times in the face and probably took a club to the head, after that he went to speed off and lost control.

Media is so funny saying she was trying to help him, probably trying to drag him out and club him some more.

Lets see.....

He sped off from his driveway 2:30AM for no apparent reason.

Hit a hydrant and a neighbor's tree.

Sustain multiple cuts and injuries to the face and lips but the injuries were not from the air bags.

Whatever he hit his face on (or more accurately, whatever hit his face) had hit hm so hard that he was "fading in and out" and was lying on the ground when the cops arrived. It was so bad that he had to be taken to a hospital.

His wife said she ran down from the house and smashed the rear window with a golf club, with no explanation of where did she get the golf club from. It could not have been from the vehicle because "she had to smash the rear window glass to rescue him because the doors wouldn't open."

The information is getting more juicy by the minute!!!

What is even more disturbing is that some folks believe that there is a magic speed at which airbags deploy.

The fact is that there is hard and fast explanation of when an airbag is "supposed to go off.

Quite simply, the airbag controller makes millions of calculations within a split second to determine if an airbag should deploy.

Inputs include speed, angle of accident, seating position, number of occupants and thousands of other leading to a single question:

"Will an airbag deployment prevent the occupant from more serious injury than without a deployment?"

One calculation is determining the injury that a deployment could cause and weighing that against the consequences of no deployment.

GM has an extremely advanced airbag system and is no less sophisticated than the one in our cars.

Oh, and our doors won't unlock either unless the car is in a severe accident.

Tiger Woods either got whacked by his wife beforehand or wasn't belted in and hit a car part that was harder than his head.

Hey, and why wasn't he driving a Buick?

Not all cars...I crashed my 2001 Celica at 35-40 mph (I was going about 50 mph slammed the breaks skid 33 inches and crashed into an SUV) and my air bags didnt deploy

But in Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard he throws something at the BMW and the "Crash Assist" makes doors unlock

I believe he and Buick mutually agreed to end their contract because of the whole money issue...

It looked pretty bad to be shelling out millions a year to sponsor a golfer, while you're taking (borrowing?) billions of dollars from the government.

Chime in about what? I live 5 minutes down the road from the guy but there's not much anyone can report.

Although, bad driving seems to follow the Woods. His wife was in an accident not even 6 months ago. I saw it while I was out working.

this whole story is way to fishy.....

even as a big TW fan....it looks like TW might have been snooping around and got his ass beat down by Mrs. TW.

the fact that he avoided another state trooper accident interview yesterday appears to be a testament to the fact something is trying to be covered up.
