Just got my e90 with the euro stock audio system (no tweeters etc) and it sounds terrible.

I've got nav pro so have an idrive unit up front. Are there any line level outputs on this? Also is the amp integrated into the idrive controller or does even my low quality system have a separate amp? If there is an amp is it in the boot?

I haven't had a chance to check, but are there any underseat speakers with this system? Wondering if there are mounting brackets I can use in the upgrade.

Thanks for any advice. Gutted this car doesn't have a better stereo, but it is second hand and there aren't many manual cars 330i's around for sale in the UK.

Additionally, does anyone have a recommended setup to use in this car? I want to keep it looking factory, so no visible amps and neon lights etc. Also no sacrificing the boot for a 2x12" enclosure!

I have upgraded the standard system in my X3 but will probably be getting an E92 325ci in April so can offer some advice on audio upgrades.
