what is the best radar detector in Wisconsin (rural) area?

I live in Wisconsin Madison~
Here it is a quite rural area ( I think)
I did some research and found
V1 and passport X50..
V1 many people say the best
but often wrong alarm..
no complain seen yet for X50..

do you guys think which one is best?
I think good quality of product is important but also I think where you live is kind of important part too..so
please consider that I think I am live in rural area not in a city..
thank you

p.s. which one is easy to install?

I have a Passport X50. My friend has a V1 and he swears by the arrows. Although they are nice, you can begin to recognize a traffic radar no matter where it is after you have used the detector a bit. That being said I may get a V1 eventually, or just add a Z3 Laser Shifter. I have no complaints about my X50.

If you live in a rural or city area it doesn't have much impact, other than fewer falses vs. city. The radar bands used in the city and rural are the same (pretty much all radar bands in the US are K, Ka, and laser. X is nearly extinct to my knowledge. I have never come across one).

Honestly you can't go wrong with either, IMO. Both are almost the same with regard to installation difficulty. Both are pretty straightforward, but I have yet to hardwire mine.

Good luck! When you buy you can check ebay, or if you buy a V1 call them and ask for a refurbed unit. It will come with new software and is $50 cheaper I think.

I would go with the V1. I just took a trip to Vegas from LA and I can thank the V1 for saving my ass about 6 or 7 times. The arrows are great because you'll know if Johnny Law is behind you, or in front of you heading the opposite way. However it did have a few false alarms, but get used to it after a while which ones are false and which ones are bogeys.

v1 ftw.

ive had one for 7 years and still love it. its a great radar detector.

also, it always kills in unbiases tests (meaning the car magazine doing the test bought the units at the store anonymously instead of asking the factory to send in a model, which were often juiced up by passport and other companies).
335i space, coral/gray poplar, step, loaded, but with no AS, AC or rear shade. Front lip painted and installed and springs going on this week. pics coming soon.
