E92 window sealing in freezing weather?
Guys,
Wondering if anyone has had any issues specifically around window motors relative to the auto sealing feature on the E92 where the windows slightly roll down when the door is opened and back up when closed to create a seal against the weatherstrip. Wondering how reliable this can be in the winter months and was wondering if other E92 users have experienced issues? I'm going for light winter duty this year and have another car to drive but was wondering if this has presented anyone with issues in the past on the E92 in the winter? Thanks, Ron |

This is my 3rd winter with my E92 and I have not had any issues at all with the window sticking. The ones on my old 633CSI used to actually GROW in the cold and would raise above the frame so you couldn't close the door without rolling down the window...happily, nothing like that with my e92! I think you'll be fine.

Yes! When any kind of precipitation falls, then freezes in there, my windows will not retract due to them being frozen in place. My door will not shut all the way, and I have to wait until they thaw before I drive off or else I'll get the "ding" warning that I'm driving off with my door open.
No, I haven't really thought of a solution to it yet. |

I'm sure I'm not the only one that experiences this. This only happens if it's raining or sleeting, then the weather turns to freezing (20 degrees or below). Basically the ice forming on your window freezes it shut so they can't roll down at all.

it happened to me a few weeks ago. I just poured a little water over the edge and it came free.

Happens to me as well whenever there is precipitation. I normally carry a bottle of water with me and just pour some over the part where the door and the window meet. Frees things up quite nicely.

For either of the guys using the ointment from autogeek or BMW, do you get any film on your window following the application? If not, what was the drying time?
Thanks for the tips! |

Bavarian Autosport also has gummi pflege
you can also get gummi pflege from Bavarian Autosport and order some oil filters at the same time for your 335i.

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but it appeared the most relevant.
I seem to be getting wind noise through my E92 driver window, i.e. it doesn't seem to be as solidly sealed as it used to be. I have excellent hearing and am very sure this is a new noise. It's not that annoying, but I do notice it, and am wondering if others have this issue. There is a little side-side play in the window when the door is open, but none when the door is closed and no more than the passenger side where I don't seem to be getting any wind noise. It also appears to be functioning normally when it automatically drops/raises when closing/opening the door. It may be a winter/extreme cold thing, hopefully it will work itself out, but I'll probably try the gummi pflege at some point. (I'm not going to be using the car much for the next couple months)
