Out of curiosity, is this a direct exchange or do you have to modify it in some way for the wires to match up and everything to work?

I have a regular mirror now (non premium pkg), but always wondered if this is a simple trade.

You have to purchase a wiring harness and then rewire your center console a bit and run the wiring down. It's not terrible, and there are some DIYs if you search that subforum.
