Window Tint - Good or Bad Job ???

SO i got my windows tinted last week and they look pretty good for the most part. the 4 windows look good, except i think that back one looks kinda crappy. i took these today to show the lines that you can see while your driving. SHould i go back and get the back one re-done by the guy, or at least cleaned up??
Also, for those of us with tints, at night, do you see the reflection from headlights off of the defroster lines ? basically, i see a reflection, glare, refraction, ( its an up and down light ) bouncing off of the defroster lines. It wasnt there before the tint so i'm wondering if it because of the tint, and if theres any way to fix it, becuase its annoying. THanks everyone!

The back window is the hardest window to tint, especially with the defogger. I'd say he did a good job, not very dark though...but I'm a big fan of light tint.

The glare is normal. After a while, if there are any bubbles near the defogger, they will go away. Overall, I'd say they did a pretty good job.

I think whether he did a good job depends on how much you paid for it. For a $80-$100 job, it's not bad. For a $200 job, I would try to get it fixed.

Looks like he used multiple pieces? The rear window is the hardest one to tint. You could find somebody who can do a single sheet, but it will probably cost 2 to 3 times what you paid. Personally, those lines would bug the s--t out of me, but hey, for $100 it ain't bad...

How many pieces did he use for the rear? The lines should have "cleared" after a few days. Did he tell you to come back after his initial install?

For $100, you probably got your moneys worth ... I've got a tint job scheduled soon after I pick-up my car, and its going to cost me $500 ... but, its Huper Optik film, and I'm going with the most experienced Huper installer in CA (who is 450 miles north of me here in San Diego).

Yeah, you want to make sure that he used one piece with a heat gun for the rear. In a couple of years those multiple pieces will start to look like crap. Also, does this shop have a computer laser etcher to cut the shapes?

Looks below average. I would have him redo and as another level to insure quality, when you get the car home, take a blowdrier and go over the film like twice a day. This will reduce any air bubbles trapped and smooth out the film.

Sidney Lee is "the man" if you want Huper installed in California; he is located in Fremont ... its quite a drive up north for me (from San Diego), but I'm sure it will be well worth it.

Here is his web site:

IMO...I think they did a horrible job. My place did my back in once piece and you don't see the lines at all.

I just had mine tinted as well. Paid $225 from some professional tinting shop. I had 20% on back and 35% all the way around. I wish I went 20% all the way around 35% is too light. Anyway - my back window definatley gets a glare now off the lines from car lights. The car images look a little blury or distorted along the lines. But from outside looking in it looks pretty smooth and I dont have any bubbles in it. I can see 2 lines though where it looks like they used 3 diff sections all equal length to do my back window.
