I've just had an oil service in the 330d at 38k miles, with the vehicle check service, came in at 289.

The first oil service (on its own) was 153. Micro filter and brake fluid was 96

Personally I find the cost "per mile", (which is what matters), very similar to, say a VW.

I know folks take there own oil... but to me that is a bit like going to a decent restaurant and saying "oh by the way, I've brought my own wine".

5.50 - Microfilter service
27.24 - Microfilter

That is remarkable.

The dealers charge 15 a litre for LL04 oil and the cars need 6 litres plus - that's at least 90 for oil (maybe less oil for a 4pot?)

They also seem to be charging just 33 labour for the lot, again remarkable as most dealers charge around 140 / hour + VAT, that means the microfilter labour was only 2.3 minutes!!

It was either a very special deal, or they've all gone mad in Newcastle!

LOL - especially after all your trouble the mechanics will nick your decent retail stuff and then pump their usual 50gallon drum cheapo-trade-lube in your engine. Saved a few quid, but wasted loads of time messing around buying it and explaining to the service girls.....

Like giving a waiter some cheek, you'll end up with 'special sauce' on your grub.

Service, oil, oil filter, microfilter, health check.

how did you track it down.. i didn't get a full service history with mine, i just insisted that the place i bought it took it to BMW and got them to thoroughly inspect it. which they did...

one new alloy (lol ) and brake pads later, i drove home a happy chappy.. i have thought about ringing around ALL the uk dealers, but i truley do not have time for this!

Hi

BGM

When I bought the car I asked about the previous work that had been done on it. Stratstone got me a faxed copy of a service invoice (as mentioned earlier). I contacted the company on the invoice and sent them my service book for updating and they also supplied a proper copy of the actual invoice.

OP - call Stratstone Derby, I've found them cheaper than Sytner everytime.

Mine's booked in next week for service; oil, filter and scope - 72.46 inc VAT (I'm supplying my own oil)
