318 ed petrol late 2007 please help

hello all

i am about to purchase a late 2007 318i ed petrol. I realise diesel and or 320i and above is preferred but i will only be doing approx 6,000 miles and the car falls within my budget.

However, I would be grateful if you could please guide me as to what i should be looking for

1) As it is a AUC will i get a hpi report ? Also bmw on its website says that i does a 118 vechile inspection can i ask for a copy of this ?
2) I heard that 318/320 ed petrol had some problems with low revs/loss of power. Does this affect every car ? Any feedback from people who have had the cars would be welcome.
3) Any other signs that i should look out for.
4) what is a reasonable price for a 318 petrol se ed with approx 30k miles on the clock dec 2007 reg ?
5) as it is a uc should the software be updated. How do i check this ?
6) is the car generally reliabile ?

Thank you
