that's not what you want to assume.... $300 vs "void warranty", think smart.

you were able to shell out $300 to buy the JB+ but not thinking it is worth on BT tool? then don't mod the car....

it was $200 for the jb+ and i've read every where that if i keep the jb+ at 50% there was no need the the bt tool, obviously i was wrong and i prob wont be modding this car from now on

Hey guys,
Is there anyone with a BT tool that can help out mdtitans10?

Back in the days when I was the president of a car club, we'd always try to help a guy out.

Just to let you JB+ guys know. I just installed it and so far no issues. Go to Mike's thread about install that he created. I posted some pictures if there are any installation questions.

too late now already brought the car in to bmw.... and i wont be trying to add a tune any time soon, due to running the risk of something happening again, even if i did clear the codes when i brought it back in they would know something is up

I was also part of the group buy and have the same concerns as you but in the end even if there is a 1% chance of throwing a code, $300 is cheap insurance. Let us know what happens at the delaer.

Alright so i just got home, talked to my dad, from what his text said it looked like the jb+ threw codes, but when i got home and talked to him all he said was the guy was talking about the scoops and the taillight tint....so hopefully all goes well they should be calling within the next few hour, it could either go well or really, really bad....ill keep everyone posted on what happens

Given your situation with a code right after the install, I thought a install problem was likely and a BT scan suggested just to cover your bases. But you are probably fine. I would have told you to remove the scoops though...

Ya i figured the scoops would be fine, still havent heard from them, i dont know if thats a good or bad thing, i'll prob be sending u an email in the near future mike to talk about getting a bt tool and other stuff, ill let u know tomorrow whats up

BMW called, there was a coil misfiring, they said nothing about the jb+ so im guessing it didnt throw any codes. Hopefully i'll have the car back by tonight

even if you are running at default a code is thrown when the check engine light goes on. also, if the install was done incorrectly then a problem with the tmap sensor could be logged.

i was in your boat too, young kid with a 335, a tune, and no BT. almost got voided but we've bought a bunch of cars there so they let it slide. i got myself a bt tool and never had any problems for the 15000 miles i drove on the tune. and it went to the dealer a few times in those 15000, with the tune removed and the codes cleared of course.

Well i wasnt going to bump this but someone else did soo, i havent put my dci or jb+ back in since my car went in for service, even though mike says that the jb+ didnt cause the problem my dad said if the car has to go in for service again with the jb+ in the car that I wont be driving again so i really dont want to take the risk

But the car is running great, no problems ex the car says that there is a problem with the left break light, but when i check it seems to be working fine, anyone know what this could be?

I purchased a JB+ about a week ago and I will be installing it this weekend. Aside of not breaking the TMAP sensor clip, are there any other pieces of advice for this tune and install? I will be leaving it at 50% and I have a BT tool. Have some of you had mechanical issues right after installing the JB+ as well?
