Piggybacks & higher rev limiter

If piggybacks have full control of fuel and the fuel limit cutoff is 7000rpm, why can't or doesn't a piggyback tune higher the rev limiter from 7000rpm?

The complete valvetrain assembly is designed for that rpm limit. You would need to change alot of parts to benefit from a higher rpm level.

Plus it'd be a waste of time to do it as the N54 loses it's legs after 6500rpms.

Maybe good for upgraded turbos though or when running nitrous. IDK

What about for methanol users spraying up-top?

It's a lot more then that, they aren't equipped to do it. They would have to be actively controlling throttle ignition and fuel, not just offsetting it and only reading it.

They would actually have to build their own maps from scratch, oh noez.

only benefit to removing or increasing the rev limiter for 6MTs is to prevent throttle closure if your shifts aren't "perfect".

Ya dude, on the wrx it was possible to raise the rev limiter after adding camshafts, titanium valve springs, retainers, rockers, and all that crap. 335i gearing is tall enough, it's all engineered to work with the rev limit we have now. I'm not sure there are even parts for the 335i for that.
