I must say, If I were in the market for a coupe - I would go for the A5 - I think it's a lovely car - both to drive and look at. Anyways, as for the Euro millions - my first purchases would be an Arial Atom, A Noble M400 and Ferrari 599. Oh, and a Porsche Panamera Turbo for the family ![]() |

I think BMW are more 'exciting' in their advertising and marketing and appear more passionate if that makes sense. Audi seem to play it safe and play it down a bit and go with the comfort and ambience more. An Audi salesman appeared to have similar opinions to me about this but then made a valid point that when the Audi engineers are given free reign so to speak they produce the RS cars and the R8. Even the R8 V10 I drove albeit an excellent car was still quite civilised, maybe lacked that rawness that certainly the Porsche Turbo has in bucket loads. Not a downside per se for the Audi but maybe it's a car enthusiast thing. The S5 is a bit like that.......you really don't have much idea how fast you're going unless you look at the digital readout. Why haven't Audi put that monster V12 diesel of theirs in a production car yet, is it too much of a 'beast'? Like your euro millions stable and having seen a Panamera in the flesh now......I don't think they're half bad. I'd have to be boring and have another Porsche Turbo in GT silver metallic this time.......sod it go for the Turbo S. ![]() Still don't know whether it's one person or a syndicate won the £85 million? |

But why can't Audi put the same magic as the RS4 and R8 in the rest of the sportier range? They're more concerned with putting S-Line stickers everywhere and pretending that a an A3 2.0 TDI can be 'sporty' - with it's big wheels and body kits. Even the TTRS has been criticised for being too detached from the driver - why? what a perfect platform for Audi to display their talents. The majority of folk couldn't afford the RS4 and definitely not the R8 - until they come down in price. I reckon if they had set the TTRS to around £40k and did their RS magic on it - it would be outselling anything in it's class. But oh no, they had to f*** it up somewhere. Yet VW can built a Scirocco (I've not driven one yet) - stick 50 LESS BHP in it and make it a better car !!!
My last car was a MK5 Golf GTi - what a lovely, lovely car. 6 years after it's release, I still hear more about that, than the S3. |
