MOTOR Mag PCOTY Round 1
E92 335i takes fourth spot after 3.RS4 cabriolet (!), 2. Boxster S and 1. Z4M. Not too bad in this company I guess.
Beats Merc ML63, Jeep SRT8 (how did they get in PCOTY for heaven's sake ???), and TT V6.They like the engine, steering, chassis balance. They don't like the "unsettled", "brittle" ride, which they blame on the RFT's of course. Performance figures match BMW's claimed 0-100k in 5.5 sec precisely. If you are upset with MOTOR about being beaten by the three cars above, you'll be more upset to learn this is just a semi final, with two more semis to go. MOTOR's trick tactic to drag things out and keep us dumb readers buying more and more copies till we get to the glorious finale! ![]() |

I'd agree with that. All the cars in front of it are better performance cars without doubt.

Personally I hate the look of the thing both inside and out. But this aside it's bloody hard to fault IMHO - at least in terms of all the things a great sports car should stand for - ride, handling, steering, brakes, gearbox, engine. On a really demanding road it can be quite sublime. There are certainly plenty of faster cars, but not many that are more fun than Boxster. If it had 4 seats and looked half decent, I'd buy one tomorrow. |

Is it likely that the 0-60mph sprint we read of out of the USA Motor Magazine tests claimed at 4.8secs - 4.9secs would translate to 0-62mph as 5.5 secs??
Just wondering how much extra 60mph to 62mph (ie 100km/hr) ads to the time. |

I don't really think it matters too much really. Trap speed and ET show a cars true performance better than a 0-100 time
