How many cat do i need? (atlanta)

Im was gonna gett catless dp but emission test stopped me.
Stock car has 4 cat so is it okay for me to get rid of dp cat
with o2 sim? Or do I need to buy catted dp in order to avoid
trouble with emission test?
Thank you for all your replies.
P.S. I live in Georgia, Atlanta

is that mean I have to have 4 cats to pass the visible test?
If not, how about catless dp with o2 sim?

Yes, there are 4 cats total; DPs (2) and the Midpipes (2). You can take out the cats in one of the places, but need to keep at least 2 in order to pass emissions. So either get high-flow cat exhaust with catless DPs or vice versa. Catted DPs are a bit more expensive, but in my opinion worth it due to the annoyance of having to worry about emissions testing, and will definitely be the route I take in the future. If anything, you could always play it extra safe and put your stock exhaust back on for the test, which isn't that terrible of a task (other than getting the rubber hangers off!)

I'm not so sure they actually check the CO2 output of the car in Atlanta. Last time I went in Johns Creek they just plugged into the DME, read codes, and did a visual inspection. I think you could get away with it if you go to the right place. That being said... I haven't tried and I do not endorse it.

Just get full racing exhaust and swap them out for stock every other year or however often they test.

Thank you everyone for the answers and suggestions.
I was thinking of getting catted dp but price was the concern
but I guess it is safe and best option for emission sake.

They don't do visual. Also just pick a place that just hooks up the OBDII to check codes, aka Roswell Rd by 285.

Don't know the years, but something like 2002 and newer they hook into the OBDII only to read codes....no more sniffer test.
Once you get the "racing pipes" on you can gert the BMS DP fix and pass all emissions test, or so I've been told.

1996+ cars are OBDII and no sniffer test is done.

Personally, I never had to undergo a visual test since 2001 with my LS1 & LS6 cars. Just have a tune or O2 simms and you'll be good.

You don't need cats.

Get catless DP's and a Proceed for the O2 sim, and you are good.

As long as your OBDII system is clear of codes you will pass. A tune, or O2 simms will handle that.
