e90 10 speaker HiFi stereo upgrade

I have a 2010 325i with base stereo (not harman kardon or Hifi) and idrive+hifi professional.

This is not a US spec car.

I believe this means I have 5 speakers (4 midrange/tweeters) and one sub under driver's seat and a built-in 4-ch amp.

I want to upgrade the amp (or add some) and all speakers/subs.

1) Does anyone know if its easy to get a line out?

2) All threads seem to be about upgrading HiFi loudspeaker or H/K surrond sound which are offered in NA cars. any pointers on upgrading this base system?

The base Stereo system is similar in most countries, it seems.

That one-speaker system has been seen in the EU as well.

The signal out should be the one described here, I bet:

So you either need to recode the HU to Hi-Fi mode, converting the HU outputs to a lower voltage and turning off the internal processing, or you need an external speaker-level-input reversing processor.

Basically, you need a processor like an Audison BitOne or a RF 360.2 or a JL CleanSweep or a JBL MS-8 - or you need a manual DSP device and an installer who's really skilled and has great test gear.

We use Zapco DC amplifiers a lot. The MS-8 probably isn't available in HK yet, but a lot of people use those, add a center channel.

If you recode it to HiFi mode, buy the missing tweeter flanges, then you're set.

What is the preferred method? Recode or DSP? Even if you recode, won't you still need an amp to run upgraded speakers?

some good news--the dealer told me i have the 10 speaker hifi. I guess that is the same hifi as NA models.

I am guessing then I don't have to do the above so does it make the upgrade significantly easier? budget is about 2k USD...
