Wonder if that includes a redo for the GD 6FL cable, too.

Well, here's the good news. For grins, I plugged in the 6FL cable this morning to see what it would do with my iPhone 4.
I got this message (which is NOT the one I kept getting with my 3GS): Upon clicking dismiss, I drove to an appointment, using the phone to play music, as 6FL was intended (well, partially, anyway). When I got to the appointment, I used the phone for various things (unplugged), and when I got back into the car, the battery showed 96%, before plugging it back in. I drove to work, and once I got there, the battery showed 100% again. Now, I don't know what's different between the 3GS and the 4, but I'm definitely getting better results this time around (I dare say intended results, aside from the message on the screen).

I have a 3GS with the cradle in my 2011 E91 - has anyone tried to fit an iPhone 4 into the current 3GS cradle? I know there is a (very) slight difference in length and definite difference in width but it looks like the cradle might still have enough action in the latch to still connect the iPhone 4.

Forgot to mention - re one comment above - the "accessory not optimized for this phone" warning appears to be an iOS4 (phone operating system) error and not necessarily specific to the iPhone 4 vs 3GS - I got the same error after upgrading my 3GS to iOS4.

Been using mine with my 2009 328, I have Nav, and it works great. I can take calls, the song fades away and then returns after call complete.

No, I just use a standard aux cable from the headphone jack to aux in. I have iDrive, so I just copy my music to the iDrive HD from a USB key and rarely use the iPhone any more.

Yeah that is nice, but then you loose the simpleness of just syncing one device that has everything on it.
