I'd turn it in too. My wallet somehow slipped out of my pant pocket when I got out of my car to campus right into the street with hundreds of other college kids walking around that could have just kept it. I didn't even notice until I got a call about my wallet being found. I'm grateful and assured me that there are good people out there no matter how small/big the deed is.

I had lost my wallet recently in Paris. Had about $250 total US in it at the time. Of course, it was cleaned out of cash when it was found. A guy who happened to see it found it, called a colleague of mine who I happened to have a card from back in London. Short version there is that they were able to get a hold of me and I got my wallet back not 12 hours later. The guy was some international director at some large European restaurant company and told me about his trip to Chicago and that he knows how it is to be in that situation. Of course, it was a minor setback with no cash, but at least I got everything back.

Now granted that there was no ID, but the point is don't take other people's money without at least trying. I work and have worked hard for everything I have and nothing erks me more than BS like that.

get a McDonalds meal and put the change back in the wallet and give it to the security.
put a note inside saying thanks for the meal

i wouldn't even pick up a lost wallet... i would let someone else face that decision

about 6 years ago, i found a female's wallet at a gas station. it had cash, credit cards, driver's license, even her phone number on some bills, etc. i took it home and call her up.....guess what she was doing? she was cancelling all her credit and bank accounts. i dropped it off moments later at her house and she offered me $$$$, but i said "no."

if the wallet i found had an ID or some sort information where i could find the owner, i would have definitely gave it back.

Take the money, turn in the wallet with your phone number and a note in it, to Lost & Found.

Drop the wallet back off. But if you are hurting for $35 that bad and your willing to take it from a kids wallet then keep it, you may need it more than he did.

Just remeber karmas a bitch and when you loose your wallet youll loose more than just a measley $35.00...
