So much for break in security....
I stupidly locked the keys in the trunk. Called BMW assistance and after the guy arrived it took only few minutes to break into the car without any visible damage. I was lucky to unlock the car but it leaves me wondering how secure my car is left alone on the parking lot.....not at all...
![]() Now that I know how to do it it may take less than a minute even. BTW remote assistance was useless because it turned out I did not have a subscription and it was turned off. I thought it was included in the Premium package since 2008 what I have. |

The scariest is the guy coming out with a small rubber wedge like tool and a pneumatic pump. They pry the door a little bit at the top with the hard rubber which prevents scratching. Put the rubber piece of the pump (like blood pressure cuff) into the opening and pump away. Opens up a quarter in gap and slips in a long aluminium rod pushing the unlock button a couple of time and the door unlocks. Secure eh?

Any car is ez to break in to if you are practiced. People that do this for a living have no problems.
Back in the good ole' days of high school - I worked at a grocery store. Got really good at opening locked doors using a coat hanger due to so many requests from (mainly women) who locked their keys in the car in the lot. Didn't matter whether the car had frame around door glass or not, or where the lock buttons were. After a while you get very adapt at knowing just how to bend the wire for type of car you are getting into. Guess you don't have an alarm on the car? If you did, it should have gone off due to the motion sensor...

Don't you have to have the Bluetooth option on your car for the BMW Assist to work?
