I think you'll be better with a rockford fosgate system for that type of music. The HK system in the bmw wont cut it

Still, the EQ can probably be adjusted to output the best sound in general; just tweaking it yourself for a couple songs will result in it sounding bad on other songs!

If you have logic 7 read the sticky

If you have logic 7 read the sticky at the top of the page of this forum
HK means logic 7 if you are using the current definition

i spend hours optimizing my H/K in my IS.

bass up 4 clicks
treble up 4 clicks

Eq 100 hz down 3 clicks
Eq 200 hz down 4-5 clicks
Eq 10 Khz up 4-5 clicks

perfect for electronic bass and crisp highs!

actually read my review here

I never understood the threads requesting EQ settings from other members to make your own system sound good to you. That's like asking what kind of woman I like so you can find the same type...

How about if the person wanted suggestions of how to set the EQ so that the sound in the car was flat, so that before personal preference bass and treble tonal controls were adjusted the sound should be EQ-wise as it was originally mastered?

Now we are talking specifics...

In the case that you want the OEM system to sound as flat as possible then you will need to know first if your OEM system baseline audio curve is indeed flat or if there is an OEM EQ curve by default that cannot be made flat (EQ settings are just an overlay of that curve).

And to know that for sure you will need a Real Time Analyzer and a white noise generator CD, either for your laptop or by buying any of the RTA apps available for the iPhone or Droids. Run the application after understanding what is capable of doing and how and then adjust your EQ until the output curve is as flat as you can make it.

With the findings of this exercise then we can answer what EQ settings can be used to set the OEM system to flat.

Well, I do tend to prefer women who are pre-selected (and hence unavailable)...
