They gave a specific example of the 3 series being availabe in either AWD or RWD for the forseeable future.

That sounds better than the article. Maybe my current 335i isn't my last BMW.

I sure hope that BMW doesn't do anything stupid. 90% plus of my driving is on dry or wet pavement or with just light snow/slush. Why do I want to spend more money for the AWD system, for the extra fuel consumption, for extra weight and a truck like extra clearance under the car for occasional deep snow? If I wanted a SUV I would have bought one. I want a choice and don't want to be force fed by BMW.

I truly hope that Mr Jung misspoke. Otherwise I go back to the brand with the rings.

On a side note BMW already has 2 awd M vehicles; the X5 M and the X6M.

Hmmmm...its a conspiracy after all.

I highly doubt BMW will do away with RWD in Canada, or anywhere. Having options = more sales. That said, I'm a big fan of AWD and hope the next version of the M3 has it - as an option.

I agree, an M3 with an xDrive option would be great. Just not for me ;P
