That is why I got rid of my GSXR 1100 back in the late 90's. This was a tragic accident for sure. Any bike riders on here be safe and smart while riding their bikes.

Poor kid. Luck wasn't on his side as most racers just walk away from low-sides like his. He crashed at the worst possible time. And DeAngelis was a victim too, forced to a horrific high-side after hitting him. He'll be fine, but will have to live with the fact he killed the kid without fault of his own. But that's racing. Awful day indeed. RIP.

scott redding (who didn't walk away but only sustsained lacerations to his back but otherwise fine) deserves to be in peoples thoughts too
we'd all hate to witness something like this but to be involved doesn't bear thinking
