I'm running RD angel eyes. I like them because it is not overpowering and lit up the ring perfectly, but during the day, it is not so obvious.

At first I'm kinda hesitate to get 6k bulb and worried about it being too blue. But it comes out perfect to me. My angel eye is definitely more blue than the HID.

Here's a few pics of my car with the hid fogs completely error free :-) If I would have known about this it would have saved me a lot of $$$$$$$ and headaches buying error cancellers and soldering kits to capacitors just to find out they suck lol.

Pre lci takes h11 i believe...

These ballast took MONTHS to find, and hours upon hours of testing.

Again, any questions like that can be directly emailed to the company and he can decide to provide you with pictures.

Do you have a more specific concern with the ballast that maybe I can answer?

I have an e92 09/06 build...pre 07. Can I get this kit http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/hipexeh8plan1.html and everything will be alright? Also, is there a difference between the high quality non slim ballast and slim ballast? Whats the difference performance and reliability wise.

I had a set of those with the error cancellers and they did not work right. I had the error light and they kept shutting off. Eventually I sold them on Ebay. I got this kit http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/hipexeh8plan1.html
and it works flawlessly.

I got the upgraded ballasts with 4300K bulbs and they are awesome. I spoke to the guy there and he said the slim ballasts work great for the E92. The upgraded ballasts would work great too and are required only for the E90 due to differences in the Canbus design. I was told the upgraded ballasts are a normal sized ballast, not the slim design, and they have room for the larger higher quality chips and capacitors and that was the main difference between them besides the upgraded canbus technology. Both are very reliable and they pretty much perform the same. I figured since the price was not that much more to just go with the ballast upgrade. A friend of mine has the slims in his E92 and they look exactly the same as mine on start up and once they warm up.

I can vouch to the hours and hours of testing!! It was my pre lci e90 sedan we used to test these out. A solid week of meeting up for 3 hours every night and checking for errors. Trust me these work, will other work? Maybe, maybe not. Unless a vendor drives to meet with a pre lci owner and test them, there will not be any solid evidence of that product working. Like many of you pre lci owners i dealt with buying kits that were "error free" or included "error free modules". I wasted a sh!tload of money and not to mention embarrassment when my lights would randomly shutoff or flicker like a disco ball. These work............case closed lol

You want the high quality one for e 90 pre LCI.... Doesnt mean the slim ballast is less quality, its just a slim ballast and wont work on the Pre LCI models.

Yes the whole basis of this thread was to have real members with real results post about their HID experience.

There are some DIY and a maybe a couple vendors vouching this and that..

Atleast with the kit I tell you guys about, we have proven results that work.

I ordered a set of them with the upgraded ballast (non-slim) a few days ago, and I got it yesterday. Installed it this morning. It's hard to find a spot to ground the ballast in the bumper, so I ended up making my own ground wire to attach to body. Anyway, the HID kits are bright, but it does take a while to warm up, much slower compared to my stock even with the upgraded ballast. The other thing is, every once in a while, I get a left fog light dash error in my car. It comes and goes. I wonder if my unit is defective or something... Anyway, I've only had it for the day, so we'll see how it goes...

I just noticed that my left and right fog light reflectors reflect different patterns...I wonder why.

You need to ensure you have a solid ground.... Metal on metal, no paint. Also ensure everything is seated fully. Anytime errors are shown they either show cause the units dont work (at all), or there is not a good connection. In this case I think you answered your own question with the ground problem perhaps.

IF its only one side, that is the side you need to ensure is getting good connection.

You could also swap ballast, if the problem stays on the left, then you know its a connection issue. If the problem goes to the right, then it may infact be a defective unit (highly doubtful but still possible, not a perfect world).



The left side and right side (housings) have different reflections for a reason; This is because you dont want blind oncoming traffic so there is a bias down and in on the driver side lights.
