safe way to lift a lowered E92 - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hey guys so im trying to lift my coupe up to take the wheels off to clean the rust on my whel hubs, but ive run into a lil problem. the jack that i have doesnt clear the bottom. My car is lowered on H&R sport springs. Can the car be lifted at another point under the car aside from the designated lift point???

Drive it up on a piece of wood first and then use the jack.

That (above) or jack the rear subframe member right in the middle (behind the differential - behind as in towards the back of the car) - you can lift both left and right rears this way. You don't need a low profile jack for this spot. Search the DIY section to find a diagram. I remember it was a real PITA to get the car off the jacks and jack stands when I installed my suspension. At the time I didn't have a sports car jack, but I did have ~two~ jacks, so it is possible. The last jack to be under there will be the same place where you started, again: middle rear subframe member. Cheers.

Before I lowered my car I bought a couple of 2" x 8" boards, 6' long. Cut them to 2' and 4', then screwed them together so I have a stepped "ramp." Costs about $10.
