Very exciting.
Good to see Alonso not on the front row.
We need a DNF from him tomorrow to get the pressure on at Abu next weekend.
Can't wait!

Enjoyed that.

Set-up nicely now. If only Vett hadn't had so
many car failures this year it would be all over already.

Hulk drove well enough. What happened to koby?!

Good drive by the 2 mclarens. Shame Button is out of it but I expected it.

Good result today. For me, I'd rather Vettel to Webber. I'd rather Alonso to either of them though.

Best scenario for me is that Lewis takes it... VERY unlikely now, but you never know..

Can't help feeling Red Bull are going to regret not making Mark 7 points more likely to be champion today.

If my sums are right, Webber now needs to win, and he can't afford for Alonso to be 2nd (or equivalent difference to ensure >8 points ahead). If they had swapped places, as long as Mark finished ahead of Alonso (not difficult given his faster car), and better than 8th - he would be champion.

Alternatively for Vettel to be champion, he needs to win, with Alonso no better than 6th - a bit of a problem when Alonso is one of the best drivers in the 2nd fastest car. On top of this, if Mark does OK he'll probably be champion anyway - so Vettel is a real long shot now anyway.

It is obvious that the Austrian owners, and their PR orientated fixation with doing all they can to have a German driver champion, have definately made it easier for Alonso to win the championship.

Disagree.

The real issue here, is no matter what the orders: There is no way Vettel would have yielded the place to Mark. He's shown that countless times this season.

He'd rather push for his longshot chance than be second driver - and I don't blame him. I'd do the same thing.

Anyway. No one remember 2006? (I think).

Hamilton/Alonso/Raikkonen.

Raikkonen was a massive outsider going into the final race but it worked out for him and he took the title. Never say never..

It was 2007 mega!

Why on earth would Vettel concede yesterday. He has out quali webber all year. Outperformed him in most races. Won as many races as him and should have won more races.

He still can be world champion. You can't expect him or even the team
to have asked him yesterday.

Drivers title is the coveted prize.

He hasn't worked his whole career to help another driver win the world championship

if one driver is out of contention like massa's situation then of course they will help their team mate!

I can see your point, and the gap in 2007 was 4 & 7 points between the top 3, with only 10 for a win back then of course.

Still, bottom line is Alonso is much more likely to be champion. I share an office with a Spanish F1 fan.....so I have to declare a vested interest in him not being champion

Looking at this ...

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/88087

... doesn't this ring a bit hollow?

They can't say "we're always 100% fair between our drivers" one minute, having clearly favoured Vettel at Silverstone with "frontspoilerswapgate".

I really feel Webber is getting a rough deal here. I'm against team orders early in the season (certainly the Germany farce was awful), but now it just seems daft. "We'd rather our drivers came 2nd" - what cock - he means he'd rather they came 2nd if their German can't win. Sad.

It makes me wonder about Webbers engine running hot in the second half of the Brazilian GP, leading to them turning down the wick a bit - innocent, or convenient to ensure he couldn't get near Vettel?
