Hey guys, please excuse any delay.

Just received an email from high performance bulbs that the owner was in a horrific accident just the other day. He wanted me to reach out to you guys and let you know.

He's alive, but hes in very much pain. If you need anything, you can still order from the website and you will receive it, but there might be delay in any email related questions.

Thanks

I just received my 6000k HID kit for my e90 lci m-sport from highperformancebulbs and i'm going to install em next week, but i'm not sure how to mount the ballasts. since i have the m-sport bumper, the front fog grilles pop out so this might be helpful. any insight?

Easiest way:

Turn your wheels in towards the engine.
Remove a couple bolts on the inner fender liner, and a few on the bottom side of the bumper. You will then be able to peel back the inner fender liner and have access to the fog lights, and able to mount the ballast however you desire in the bumper area.

I went with a simple Double sided tape solution mounted to the bottom of the bumper.

Others zip tie the ballast up somewhere (firmly).

i was thinking of doing the double sided tape method instead of literally screwing it down to the bumper to make it easier. it's the 3.5 inch canbus ballast, the double sided tape will hold it together nicely? and will the ballast get hot to melt the adhesive?

Ive been doublesiding ballast since like 2003, its a common method. Just remember to clean the surface you are adhering too.

I recommend 3M heavy duty double sided tape.

If you read the first post and several others there is plenty of love sir.

This is the only kit I know of that actually works for PRE lci and LCI models. E90 and E92.

Hey, JP nice avatar. I had installed the DEPO 60 LED's AE's and HID to replace my stupid halogen. It rocks. Now I have two tasks. To get rid of stock yellow fog lights to upgrade it to yours with 6000K to match my HID's and replace high beams halogens for ultra white halogens or do you have any other suggestipon? I want to delete the yellow lights.
Thanks.

Thanks

You could get HID for your highbeams and Fogs if you wanted.

Halogens will have a white look but wont be nearly as white as a HID solution.

The owner of highperformance bulbs has HID in his Low Highs and Fogs hehe, so its not unheard of to say the least.

99% of the time if no lights light up its because it was installed incorrectly. First place to check is the plugs in the ballast, some of them with force can be clipped in backwards or not far in enough.

You can get in touch with high performance bulbs and have them run you through a troubleshooting. I've actually did the samething at first. I ended plugging clip into ballast backwards. Lol.

Well, if you think about it the fogs don't blind anybody and hi-beams are used when there is no incoming traffic, so it should be fine, right? I'll do it.
Thanks.
First I have to recharge bank account, I just upgrahed LED's on whole car.... Looks nice. I hate yellow.

What specifically? They looks just like any HID kit would, they are just cheaper and known to work on this car, which is a feat in of itself.

I don't mean to ride you on this forum, but I read this thread through as well and noticed the pictures of the HID kit on his website look exactly like some cheap generic HID kit I purchased through another vendor recently.

My biggest problem with these HID kits in fog light fixtures is that the HID fixture is built on a flimsy plastic rebase and doesn't align the gas capsule in the same position that the filament would be positioned in the original halogen bulb.

A mis-aligned HID gas capsule will not produce the same beam pattern as the original halogen bulb, especially in a reflector housing like our fog lights. The kit I used was horrid, unfocused, and resulted in a big hot spot with poor light dispersion and only added glare to oncoming drivers. I took it out that same day and had to take a 25% hit on restocking and shipping fees.

I'd love to see more pics of those who have this kit installed in their fog lamp housings. To better illustrate the beam pattern and cutoff, it would be nice to see a few pics with someone parked 20' or more from a wall with just the fog and parking lights turned on so we can see how the light pattern is diffused and if the original cutoff is retained. It might also help to post a picture of just the fog lights illuminating a flat, level street surface to see if the beam pattern is just as wide as it is with halogen bulbs installed.

Until then I remain suspect on these cheap HID kits and don't recommend anyone to install HIDs in their fog light housings, especially on the small glass H11 Mtech fogs.

PERFECT CUT OFF

Hope you guys like feet, again perfect cut off.

Note the cut off on the side wall. Again CLEAN and Perfect.

Haters stay out!

If there are any other questions about cut off or how it looks on the road I have some nice video footage that can also show the beam pattern and cut off.

Thank you!

Now that's what I'm talking about! The kit I used from a different vendor was bad, hot-spotted and didn't look like that at all. Are your pictures from a H8 or H11 kit?

This is an H8 kit pictured sir. FWIW I wouldnt waste my time posting poor quality products, and for that matter put them on my car.

Btw I think you may have been judging the kit based on the pics off the website, just so you know the pictures on the site arent even the bulbs/ballast that is shipped to you. As you can see, they are using a much higher quality piece. They need to be updated.
