VK IC installed

I installed my VK IC this afternoon.

Installation:
* I have a 2010 M-sport 335i sedan, so there's no bumper prying necessary, the IC just slots right in.
* The screw holes on the mounting tabs were a bit large, IMHO. I added a large washer on each side to address.
* The passenger side mounting tab was welded on a little too high, resulting in the IC sitting ~1/4 of an inch too low on the passenger side. Bending the mounting tab down slightly addressed this issue.

Performance:
I'm stock except for a JB4. I noticed a nice addition to the top end. No IAT logs, sorry. This particular IC is one of VK's earlier iterations, so it has the ETS core, which is well respected.

Fail:
Before I buttoned up the drip tray I figured I'd take it around the block to make sure I got the IC couplers secured properly. I was having such a good time with the improved top end that pretty soon I found myself at somewhat supra-legal speeds. That was when I heard a POP, then the sound of dragging. I pulled over immediately to the smell of burning plastic. When I got out and looked under the car, the rear drip panel had come un-moored and was hanging a couple of inches above the pavement. Whoops! The damage to the tray itself was no biggie (road rash an missing screw clips), but the mount point that failed (part of the sound deadening panel on the passenger side) is completely ripped up. I managed to patch it up with some metal tape, washers, and spare screw clips, but doing so added 45 minutes to the IC install.

Word to the wise: no freeway driving without the front drip pan installed.

I've been running/testing Terry's stuff since the original eBay voltage-dividing Terry Tuner. The JB4 is easily Terry's best alpha release ever.

I had low expectations for the instrument cluster/CAN integration features. Now, I wonder how I ever got along without them.

I also think the boost response is more predicable than the JB3 2.0, but honestly, there wasn't a lot of room for improvement on an otherwise stock MT car.

I looked at the vk, but hpf has a larger core so I bought it.
