if you get it installed by bmw you get full warranty.
if it's elsewhere, it's a limited warranty.
i forget the numbers.
either way it's OEM performance parts, you'll be fine.

there have been threads with members get'n it installed at the dealer.
you can try to work out a price with the dealer for install.
i just feel the money can be saved.
it is a straight forward install. cut and clamp no weld'n.

Always tempted to do more to my car when I see your ride Frank. Especially eyeing the PE Exhaust... I salivate when I hear the sound. Nevets, your video on youtube is one of my browser favorites haha.

I just install the PE last week but only driven the car ones (was on vacation). Does it get louder over time from the inside or just from the outside?
also notice a toasty smell from under the car after a few high revs...is this normal?

will get deeper/ louder outside, little inside.
if you get an intake u will hear it more in the front cabin.
or roll down your window and drive threw a tunnel.

you're going threw break in stage right now.
that's the toasty smell.

It should taper off in a few more weeks. I remember the smell from the brand new Greddy exhaust I got for my Lexus IS300 back in 2004. Hey at least yours smells like roasted duck. For me it was ass mixed with burning plastic bag.
