Need Help - Car damaged by sandstorm

On my way back from vegas trip my car (2009 328i, Sapphire Metallic Black) hit by sandstorm. My windshield is completely ruined, headlight, fog lights, hood, front bumper, both mirrors, kidney grill has scratches. Blow was from left front, so major damage on front and light on left side of car. My spotless car suddenly started looking like aged old car...........
I have talked to insurance, but im concern over some of parts replacement with non OEM one, which i hate to have it on my car.
I drove my car to local body shop, he said it needs to be completely repaint. I think he has DuPont color system. Does this match with original factory color? Can you please recommend what would be best to do in this case?
Also I do see sand stuck in radiator, after opening hood i can see sand too.... should i stop driving car totally before it completely checked?
Insurance adjuster still to visit and have a look at damage, should i wait to get it washed so they can see as is or get it washed so that they can see damage clearly?
Should i get work done by approved BMW body shops or local ones?
I'm from San Jose, CA so any local help or reference is highly appreciated.

My recommendation would be a full assessment of all the damage and you will have to use your insurance for the repairs. Depends on the insurance on where the repairs have to be done.

sounds like a pretty heavy damage... i say don't do anything yet and let the insurance company have a look... after that, you can try to source out local detailers and get their estimate and you can decide what you want to do from there...

Happened to us in a 64 VW Squareback in the late 60's. Luckily the car was "sand beige" to begin with but the windshield was toast.

Hdd the same thing happen to my parents' brand new '74 Volvo station wagon (pea-soup green, we called it the pickle wagon) Dad had the windshield replaced, but nobody would touch the paint. When I inherited it many years later, I could wash but not dry it. The paint oxidized and just fell off when wiped dry.
