I can't even get the nut on there...I can barely see the top of the part I'm supposed to screw it on. When I had unscrewed the nut in the first place, the OEM perch and cap sort of shot off. So I'm guessing somehow I need to force it down but not sure how. Anyone else run into this issue? Appreciate any ideas...Happy New Year!
thanks guys...those compressed springs were definitely scary

so after about 2 days of work and a sore back, I'm finally done with the install!!!

my problem was that the OEM sport spring just needed to be compressed more...A LOT MORE. all the DYIs are switching to lowering springs which are much smaller. I borrowed 1 set of compressors as shown in the pic from O'Reillys and then had to get a second set as well. To get the spring compressed enough I had to use 4 compressors at one time! It was sooooo time consuming since all the screwing was done by hand using a torque wrench and a regular wrench (hand wrench used most of the time due to lack of *******. not to mention, a lot of trial and error...

after getting the car off the jacks it actually looked higher! but then it settled after some driving and the drop in the front looks great! it went from a 2 finger gap to about 1.25 fingers, sitting really nicely right above my huge 20" wheels. (pics coming tomorrow...it's 3am for me right now) i'm really happy with the turn out and i'm sure if i was a little more experienced it wouldn't have taken 2 days. $70 well spent!!!

Does anyone have any before and after pics on a stock non sports pack suspension yet?

With a variance between .4 and .6 I am curious to know if the lowering of the stock non sport suspension will be closer to .4" or .6". .4" just does not sound like much and I am not sure I would go through the trouble or expense for that.

ChrisE92: Install is $99

Yiboi: Will have XI pics up soon!

teamadobo: We checked and the Xi spring perch is the same as the non-Xi so it should work. I have sent out a set to an XI customer and should have pics soon

cssnms: Perches will fit without a problem and no issues with your adaptive headlights after install

We use a spring compressor. You can rent one at autozone if you're planning to do the install yourself.

That car ride height looks great Eric. I can't believe .5" makes that much of a difference. The drop over the stock non sports suspension ride height looks lower than that. Do you have any before pics? Was the rear dropped too or is that stock?

The rear is stock. Only spring perches in the front. Other then that, the car has the vorsteiner cast wheels.

i went to O'Reillys/Kragen and had to use two sets of spring compressors on each spring to get them compressed enough...were u able to do it easily with a regular pair of compressors?

We have a heavy-duty spring and strut compressor at the shop so we were able todo it. Its even harder todo on cars with non-sport springs.

We also have a spring compressor we use on the car. Its from Sears. We made some pipes with washers so use it in a backwards fashion. Its about $40-50 for the set up. If you are interested in this email me and I can send you some pics. eric@supremepower.com

Thanks

Eric, I've got a non-sport E90 335i, and I want the front wheel gap between the tire & fender to match the rear. I couldn't exactly tell from the 328i pic you provided, but would you say that it was about even? Is there a side profile shot of the entire car?

We don't have any full side profile shots but here are the rest of the pictures. I hope they help you guys somewhat.

I've called three different local BMW shops about installing these perches and pricing ranged anywhere from $150 - $250. Just a little surprised by the initial pricing is all. The shop GP Auto which had the least expensive price ($150) has installed a few of these already. Wish I was on the West Coast!
