One lucky dude you are. If it's not your time... it's not your time....

I dont want to be over confident about the E90 safety too... other wise I'd be doing daredevil stunts and kills on the road thinking that I'll come out unscathed (if ever)... Good to hear you are safe though.

My thoughts exactly. The E90 is a very safe car, best in its class, but with enough speed and stupidity things can end up nasty.

OT, speaking of high speed crashes, have you guys heard of this incident:

Glad to hear you are okay. Although I have never had to test BMW's safety systems, I have had the "opportunity" to test the safety system in a Lexus. My wife and I were rear ended at 60 kmph, about 35 mph, while at a stop light. When I got out of the car I didn't think it was that bad until I looked at the Nissan that hit me. It was a total right off with the driver being taken away in an ambulance. Although my car was seriously damaged, it was still driveable, just shorter. Didn't even smash the brake lights, the crumple zones did their job. (Lexus eventually gave up trying to repair the frame damage and bought the car back as they gauranteed that they could fix it ). I had a small back problem that was taken care of with some physio. When I went to visit my doctor and gave him the accident report he was shocked that that was the only injury out of my car. He then went on to ask if I was driving a BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes as I would have been in much worse shape in anything else. He now drives a BMW just for the protection it provides after seeing so many crash victims. It can't protect you from everything but I will take what I can get.

Glad you're with us to share your story, Mr. Abula, and hope you're not too shocked emotionally (That's one thing the car can't do anything about).

Although Bimmers are very safe, they are not indestructible. An actor here got killed a few years ago when riding his 5-Series, and the images shown on TV spoke for themselves, there was nothing left of the car except shrapnel spread around some trees.

That said, in less severe crashes, the cars do their job remarkably well!

I am speechless after reading that post. Thank God you and the salesman are alive. Safety is one of the main reasons I bought the BMW.

Now go buy a lotto ticket!
