Address book from Samsung Fascinate to 2007 335i iDrive

I've had no problem pairing my Verizon Samsung Fascinate (Android 2.1) with my 2007 335i iDrive system, but I can't get the address book to transfer. Had no issues with my old G1 running Android 1.6, and my friend's Sprint Samsung Epic 4G running Android 2.1 worked fine.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there a compatibility issue? I've tried this with two separate but identical Fascinate handsets and haven't had any luck at all. Any suggestions (other than "RTFM" or "SEARCH!") would be much appreciated!

I have the Samsung Vibrant - basically the same phone but from T-mobile. Does not work for me either.

Spaced - found a solution on on of the Android forums that may or may not apply to you.

All my contacts are synced from my Exchange Server; they need to be copied to the phone's database in order to show up in iDrive. Turns out this is simple to do:

1. In the Contacts app menu, chose More, then Import/Export, then Export to SD Card.

2. From the same menu navigate to the same place but choose Import from SD Card, then choose Phone. Android is smart enough to automatically link the two entries so that it does not display duplicates.

Contacts are now showing up in my iDrive.

Unfortunately, this is obviously a manual sync process, so it'll be a PITA as my contact list grows in Exchange, but this is still preferable to not having the phone book visible.

Hope this helps.
